1.) I've been teaching LMT's for 6 years now at 2 different schools in ABQ.
2.) I have a BS & a MS in health fields (unusual for LMT's)
3.) I have an extensive exercise background (training & instructing & certification) and therefore,
all of the above makes me an excellent therapist to treat injuries.
In addition to treating injuries/pain/dysfunction - Advanced Bodywork does the complete opposite end of the spectrum:
We give a fabulous relaxing, soothing, stress-reducing massage.
Kim O'Brion, MS is a truly gifted therapist who provides the full spectrum of bodywork -
from deep tissue work treating pain and injuries, to providing a deeply relaxing and balancing massge.
Pricing:
Relaxation Massage
* $65/hour, tax included
Injury Treatment Massage
* 1st visit: $80, tax included: 1 hr 15 mins includes assessment & discussion of your
injury/pain.
* Following visits: $65/hour, tax included
Chair Massage
* $70/hour, tax included
* Chair Massage is available for worksites, homes, or parties.
Gift Certificates are available for all treatments.
* Relaxing, soothing Basic Swedish
* Deep Tissue, including Myofascial Release and Trigger points
* Injuries or accidents : the back, shoulder, knee, hip, wlbow, wrist, hand
* Polarity
* Most insurance accepted
CANCELLATION POLICY: I also understand that I must call within six (6) hours of my appointment to cancel or I will be charged a $65 cancellation fee for a one-hour appointment, or a $95 cancellation fee for a 1 ½ hour appointment.
Experience:
I have both Bachelor’s & Masters Degrees in Health fields (advanced schooling is unusual in this field). I teach people at a college how to become massage therapists. Instructor in massage – anatomy, clinical reasoning or what’s commonly called Medical Massage.
Personal experience brought to the table: I worked in offices for 28 years so am totally aware of computer-related pain & dysfunction. I taught exercise for 13 years here and in Boston-area so know those types of injuries as well.
Taught Back Care classes for low-back pain which helped my low-back pain.Therapeutic Massage & stretching to do at home to maintain whatever gains we make; relaxation massage. I sell Traumeel; Sombra (topical crème for pain)
